Author Topic: Where to draw the line between Orchis simia and Orchis militaris?  (Read 1535 times)

I have been pondering this questions lately as it is orchid season and I'm out finding both.  The two in many aspects appear similar. Where do you draw the line? 

For example is the pictured orchid militaris or simia?

The picture does not look like O.militaris, at least not the one I saw in the Apennines (identified by a botanist). I'll be interested in what others think, who maybe know the orchid better.
