Do you know which clematis?

Can someone put a name to this clematis? It is in flower now. The flowers are about 4cm across. It looks a bit like a C. tibetana I grow, but it's much prettier!

Might  it  be  a  tangutica hybrid?  maybe  with  C. tibetana?

I think it is clematis ‘My Angel’, which has unusual flower colours and seed heads which shine in the autumn sun. A super plant - but a word of warning - it is not an angel, it has ambitions of world domination, and shoots spring up far from the original plant. I just pull out the excess and enjoy the flowers.

The pictures of My Angel look correct for our plant. It seems to be behaving so far! Thank you for the ID.

The flowers on yours seem to open out rather more than My Angel and look somewhat richer coloured. What size are they? My Angel has really quite small flowers. I hope for your sake you don't have My Angel. I made the mistake of planting one in Suffolk and I suspect it is probably now covering the county. I had to move...

I have measured the width of the flowers of My Angel and they are about 4cm across.
I nipped quickly outside in the rain to grab a bit to photograph - it’s far too wet for garden photography today!

That plant  sounds  just  what I'd need  to cover  my  neighbours' hideous extension- sadly  I can't  get  any support big  enough for the  clematis to cover  it  properly. Sigh!  Don't  suppose there  is something  similar that is  self-supporting?!!

Could you put up some trellis? C. My Angel scrambles up trellis here - growing through a lonicera which i think is called Bronze Tip or something similar - it’s vigorous and the 2 climbers fight it out together. They both twine, so don’t need tying in. The lonicera is evergreen - here in Kirkcudbright at least, but maybe not always in Aberdeen. They look great in the winter - silvery seed heads on the clematis and black-blue berries on the lonicera.

Carolyn, I would  if  I could- but  it's two storey  extension with a  ruddy  big  roof.  I hoped  I'd get  used to it  over time- but  it  still offends  me  every time  I step out the  back door.

Would a Campsis do? I have one going up the front of the house and regularly have to lean out the bedroom window to try and keep it under control but suspect one day I'll lean too far...
They are self-clinging, hardier than you'd imagine and stunning once they start to flower - would certainly take your mind off an ugly extension.
