Arisaema sikokianum. This is the first flowering of seeds planted in 2016. Some plants have nice markings on the leaves.
Nice group of A. sikokianum, Claire! They set a lot of seed when they do, but I find it is somewhat difficult to keep flowering plants growing for more than ten years or so in the open garden, so it is always nice to keep seedlings around.
Here are some other Japanese Arisaema that I grew from seeds. The first three are from fruits I collected when I went back to Japan to visit my parents several years ago. This is either some form of A. serratum or perhaps A. solenochlamis which can also be found in the area where I collected the fruits.
The last picture is another Japanese Arisaema (A. nikoense ssp. australe) grown from seeds. It flowers before the leaves come up which is very nice!
