Narcissus June 2008
« on: June 06, 2008, 03:07:25 AM »
One of my all time favourites... Narcissus poeticus 'Green Pearl'.  It appeared in nurseries here about 8-10 years ago and sadly seems to be no longer available. Was there a problem with stock?

It is still offered each year in the States as far as I know. (at least at K. v. Bourgondien)
Several years there was in Holland a production of app. 900 sq. m. and this year increased wit 400 m.

Sadly Luit died on 14th October 2016 - happily we can still enjoy his posts to the Forum

Luit - Good news. I will see if the suppliers here can't round some up for the fall.  It really is a beauty and encourage everyone to try a few. Might even be worth growing some selfed seed which I never even considered.

Heather - It is fragrant as verified tonight, maybe not as much as the type but hard to tell as it may be going over.

Or 'Hawera.' Named after a very small town in Taranaki, south west coast of lower North Island, New Zealand.

Thanks for information, Lesley. It's always nice to learn something new. Sorry for misspelling.
