Another seedling selected from Narcissus romieuxii ‘Julia Jane’ × N. ‘初雪 (Hatsuyuki)’ and its parents - JJ and 初雪(Hatsuyuki).

You are getting some wonderful things from that cross. I crossed Shiraume with Tethys and am awaiting results

Yes, I think its is a sectorial chimera. The sectorial chimera is unstable as you know...
And yes again, the seedling bloomed the chimera flower first time. The plant showed first flower in 2019 and put plain pale cream flowers since then.

Narcissus Minicycla has a lot to answer for! It was not being able to buy this little daffodil that made me start hybridising way back in 1988. In true Yorkshire fashion, if I couldn't buy it, I would make it myself! My very first attempt at hybridising is still with me - seedling number 330, 34 years old and looking great.

Angelina is very early to flower, competing with Little Finn.
I think I may have overdone things a little with Pallene - the flower is HUGE!

The species are not forgotten - the first photo is a selected clone from seed ex 'tananicus' which I don't think is a valid name. Lovely anyway.

A couple of varieties from Brian Duncan - Punk at only 10cm high, a really cute little daffodil.
Galantoquilla is the one Brian calls his 'snowdrop daffodil' - similar habit and size and flowering time to snowdrops.

Very nice selection! Especially the distinctive flowers of the rifanus variety are great!
