A. paradoxum normale has been in flower here for over a week - totally exquisite, one of my favourites. The large translucent bells look like they are sculpted from ice or sugar,

I have just been browsing through the Allium posts by year having dropped on one from 2012!
That year there were 14 pages of posts.Last year just one.
I do not post very often. If at all, to be honest.
Now, as an avid allium grower I am keen to rectify this situation and converse with like-minded members.
I would love to hear from growers willing to exchange their knowledge and, hopefully, plant materials.
I grow a wide variety of species alliums, many from seeds, and a few cultivars. I am always on the lookout for new species to add to my collection.
Anyone interested?
A. shelkovnikovii image (250422).
Look forward to hearing from you.
I am not particularly quick to reply. Too many plants!

Great to hear from you, Paul!  If no-one posts, there will be a real shortage of pages about the various plants - so you are most welcome to post to share your experiences with growing plants with folk in this  forum to keep for "posterity" and be a searchable resource for plant lovers.

Thanks Maggi.
I am still discovering allium propagation and cultivation.
I will gladly post when I am reasonably confident that my observations are 'real' and not just figments of my imagination due to my inexperience.
I am finding it very difficult, even trying to keep up with papers of recently discovered or re-named species, to gather much information regarding either cultivation or propagation of many of the species that I have managed to acquire seeds of. I have had a few losses of bulbs, too. Or they don't appear to thrive.
So many unanswered questions! I could write a book!
When I have conducted a few more trials I may have some interesting results regarding allium seed germination. Work ongoing.
Best regards,
PAUL

Allium crenulatum
705684-0

Allium diabolense
705686-1

These were grown from bulbs, other A. will be flowering soon(er or later), like Allium cupanii ssp. hirtovaginatum, which was flowering August last year, probably because of late sowing (february ).
705688-2
To correct previous info😀.

These 3 collections were received as allium akaka but are in fact allium subakaka from Turkey (Turkiye from now on).
The real allium akaka is restricted to Iran.
