The show returns to the hall at Fairmilehead after a two year hiatus due to the virus. This afternoon local members set up the staging and began to bring plants in.

Club treasurer Richard Green won his first Forrest medal with Fritillaria pallidiflora which also took the Henry Tod Carnethy quaich for best bulb
Edmund Fellowes in his first ever show won the Midlothian bowl in section 2 with Lewisi tweedyi and the voucher for a new exhibitor
Stella & David Rankin took the Bhutan drinking cup for best Asiatic primula with P bullata var bracteata and the Elsie Harvey trophy for 3 rare plants wth 3 primulas P sinoplantaginea, P graminifolia and P aff woodwardii
David Millward the show secretary won both the KC Corsar American or European Primula trophy and the Kilbryde cup for a 17.5 cm pot with Primula renifolia as well as a merit certificate for P donensis - see later phtos - in the same class

Peter Semple won the Curle Memorial trophy for 3 plants grown from seed while his N bulbocodium received a merit certificate
Peter Hood crossed the border to win the Boonslie cup for a mini garden. His large Ranunculus Molten Gold -see later pics -was in contetion for the Forrest medal and was awarded a merit certificate
Hannah Wilson created a very attractive container of cut flowers for class V

Due to taking rather a lot of plants your correspondent won the Reid rose bowl for most points, the Henry Archibald rose bowl for 3 plants from different genera, the Midlothian vase for best rhododendon and the Alf Evans quaich for an ericaceous plant other than a rhodie.

The hall looks so much better with that dark red area on the lower wall painted grey!
Some super award winning plants there- and well done to Richard Green! Richard does so much for the Club in all manner of ways, on top of his work as SRGC Treasurer, so it's a wonder he has time to tend such lovely show planrts! Welll done, Richard.
Great pix, Stan!! And congrats on your own "haul" of awards! Your ilk are a Show Secretary's dream!
Terrific to see the Shows back again!

ranuncs -including Peter Hood's large R Molten Gold which received a merit certifacate-then yet more bulbs, poppies and orchids. Ian & Carole Bainbrdge were given a merit certificate for their large pot of Calanthe.
