Gentiana triflora is growing well, and it is very tall this year.
The second and third pictures are of a plant which I have grown from seeds. The mother plant was bought from garden center (label lost), so it shouldn't be anything rare, but I can't find what species this my plant is. It's flower shape is the same as G.triflora, but leaves are smaller and thinner, and the whole plant is much smaller, about 30cm tall (while G.triflora is maybe 1,4m tall).
Any ides what this plant may be?

The second two photos are most likely G. asclepiodes

Leena, I think it is  Gentiana pneumonanthe.

Herman, you could be right. I googled it and G.pneumonanthe is for sale in Finland, and it looks mostly like my plant. I will have to wait if flowers of my plant open more.
Gentiana asclepiadea is different  :), I have it in several beds. It is a very good plant for shady borders, and it is starting to flower soon.

Wow Leena, you can tell it was raining well where you live! G. triflora grew quite a giant :)
I had few seedlings which disappeared fast in early May when we had the first surge in hot weather (same happened with few other seedlings).

G. pneumonanthe is also beautiful. One G. asclepiadea I have is not taking well the drought, despite my occasional watering, I have to move it in a more appropriate location later in the fall.

G. paradoxa,G. septemfida and hybrids between them are starting to flower. This clump of various seedlings planted together is my favourite:

Does anyone have any tips on increasing the blooms on my Gentiana angustifolia, or perhaps diagnosing the cause of their shyness? I planted seed-raised specimens a few years ago, many of which are now (relatively) substantial clumps. So far they have only produced a grand total of 3 flowers in total! :( Some notes on their growing conditions:

- 6 hours direct sun (afternoon shade)
- Well-drained soil
- I live in a cool climate, with temperatures rarely exceeding 33
- Have used decent quality slow-release fertiliser

Do I just need to go harder with the fertiliser, perhaps use something with a different NPK value?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
