Maritimes Alps mid August
« on: December 02, 2022, 08:46:35 PM »
Gourdon is a well known village, part of the "vallée du Loup". The entire region is well known by the botanists and even in late summer it's possible to find amazing plants.

Gourdon is a common name, it exists in Italia too, south west of Portugal, Ardèche, etc. It means someone who is slow, apathetic.

Colchicum neapolitanum, litterature also name it longifolium but it's very different in shape, leaves and flower's size. Endemic to the prealps between france and italia.

On the African savana Calern plateau the weather can quikly change, within 5mn i was under strikes and you can escape wherever you walk. This area is the kingdom of Astronomy and the hunting ground for thunderstorm enthusiasts, some coming from far away to attend the festival.
