I am in USDA zone 8b where temperatures almost never fall below 15F -9.4C.  Rainfall 50" 110 cm + but none  June-September.  We seldom get snow; but when it comes we get 30" overnight. Soil is sandy loam with a lot of humus.

Fritillaria davisii, sown in 2012 first time flowering. They received only 2-3 times fertiliser reason why they grew so slowly.

Your pic looks similar to one I grew from seed and which flowers for the first time now. A kind friend regularly sends me seeds of fritillarias, though I know next to nothing about them. Unfortunately, in this case, the label was lost. Is this Fritillaria davisii, too?
