The Show That Never Was
« on: June 21, 2008, 02:26:48 PM »
I am posting this with a little bit of trepidation, but if you were to visit 'the other place' (the AGS website) you wold see some plants that would have been shown at the AGS Summer North Show at St. Chad's, Far Headingly, Leeds. Unfortunately this show isn't happening this year so we are having to post our exhibits on the web.

What a lovely idea, Shelagh. I know many folks are sad to be missing this show from their AGS Diary.... this is a great way to make up for the loss.
This link will take you straight to the Show that Never Was page on the AGS website.....

This is a cute idea for a summer show. Could the SRGC piggy back on this and have something on a similar vein. A few years ago the Highland Group considered holding a national show at the end of June but this fell by the wayside. I think a virtual show such as Shelagh is demonstrating has lots of possibilities.
I would be prepared to assist and enter such a show.

I remember this show very well.  We stopped of in Forres on our way to Durness and thought we would take in the show before we moved on.  After wandering around the (Church hall ?) and blundering into the toddler's playgroup, nobody had heard of it.  I think I phoned you to find that the show had been cancelled month's previously.  If I had read the journal and news letter more assiduously, I would have seen the notice of cancellation.  We were not too bothered as we like the Forres to Lossiemouth area anyway.
