October 2023 in the Southern Hemisphere
« on: October 11, 2023, 12:56:39 PM »
We're expecting a dry, hot summer and spring was looking like being dry unlike the beginning of this month when we got more than an inch in our region but further east in the state there were floods!
Here are a few late spring flowers:
1) Geissorhiza radians
2) Moraea bipartita
3) Lapeirousia divaricata
4) Ranunculus gramineus
5) not sure on the id on this one which I had as Bellevalia cyclades
cheers

Very nice Fermi  8)

... 5) not sure on the id on this one which I had as Bellevalia cyclades ...

This looks to me like Leopoldia cycladica, just emerging here.

A few things in pots:
1) a white flowering draba - a volunteer in a nearby pot but I've lost track of the original with the label!
2) Asarum magnificum
3) Campanula 'Dickson's Gold' and Armeria caespitosa
4) Calochortus uniflorus
5) A dwarf Tulbaghia hybrid/cultivar - sold as "Fairy Stars" I think!
cheers
