I do like that unusual Galanthus elwesii.  It looks like the green mark slipped and ended up in the wrong place.

I think what you are seeing is the spathe viewed from behind.  The pedicel then emerges from quite high up the spathe.  It's somewhere between difficult and impossible to tell different members of the Sandersii Group apart.  I don't know if this particular feature would help.

By the way, the village of Lowick is in my neighbourhood.  The people who live there pronounce the Low in Lowick to rhyme with How Now Brown Cow.  Just think How Now Brown Cow in Lowick and you'll get it right.

By the beginning of March the snowdrop season in Estonia has begun. Snow is gone but the temperatures are somewhat low and deeply freezing at nights. Hopefully things turn for the better later this month.

Some early varieties are setting to bloom.
