I will have to plant them close to each other in the future. Now they grow in different parts of the garden, and 'Ailwyn' isn't up yet.

We got some more snow, and cold nights continue, but when days are +2C, the snow slowly melts and snowdrops push through snow.

Spring is not easy and fast forward this year. Instead, it brought fresh carpet of snow. Some snowdrops are well advanced as some are not even showing a sign. I hope they all are alive and well though. Some warmer weather is predicted for this weekend, lets hope it is in favor of snowdrops too.

Spring is not easy and fast forward this year. Instead, it brought fresh carpet of snow. Some snowdrops are well advanced as some are not even showing a sign. I hope they all are alive and well though. Some warmer weather is predicted for this weekend, lets hope it is in favor of snowdrops too.

I see it is the same in Estonia as is here this spring. Easter should be warmer, but we'll see. Many snowdrops seem to be late this year, and I think it is because the ground frost came early. This same has happened in years when winter came early.
Your snowdrops look nice with snow, and at least snow protects them from cold nights.

My real yellow snowdrops are not up yet, but it is very typical that snowdrops are olive green here. Some more than others, some are with mulch, some don't have mulch so it isn't always because they were covered by mulch or leaves. When ground frost is deep, the olive green or yellow is more pronounced.
They become more green as flowering continues, but some are never as "green" as in more southern countries, and it depends on a year and weather.
Here is 'Bambino' coming through snow, no ground frost in this bed this year.

There's a nice Youtube video here of a beautiful snowdrop garden emerging from under the snow.  I could not understand the commentary but all the snowdrops and other plants are captioned so you know what you are looking at.  I wonder if anyone we know made this?

Alan, it's me.
I wish I had time to write the translation, but it takes so much time. Maybe I can figure out a faster way to do it than write and translate manually. Until then I just write the names of the plants.
Most of the snowdrops are yet to come, I will make a better video when there is more to show.

Stefan, your G.platyphyllus is really nice!
Snow is ok for a month but 4-5 months of snow is too long when I'm so much waiting for all the plants.

'Glenorma' has been really slow to grow here. I planted it 2021 and there is still only one bulb.


We'll see how 'Wifi Big Bang' will do. It was planted last summer.




This is a seedling from 'E.A.Bowles', and it flowered for the first time three years ago. No special markings, but early every year (for instance close to it G.nivalis 'Flore Pleno' has not yet come up) and it has increased. I think it will be a good snowdrops for my garden.
