My first peony opened yesterday, Paeonia mascula subsp. russoi I love this one - fabulous foliage, with gorgeous cotton-woolly undersides to the leaves and always early; this year it has beaten P. obovata.
I bought P. mlokosewitchii in Spring 2018 from Kiftsgate Court Gardenn, lovely garden! It was a small plant, maybe from seed , it hasn't flowered yet, how many years does it take for this species to reach maturity, does anyone know?
This has only produced all red flowers for me; I'm hoping it gives me some stripey ones in due course.
Paeonia tenuifolia is the one most commented on by passers-by;
