December 2024 in the Northern Hemisphere
« on: December 08, 2024, 07:13:12 PM »
Amana edulis is early this season, having started in November.

Fortunately Storm Darragh didn't do any major damage in the garden.
A fork was blown out of a 30-year old Metasequoia sempervirens, but the silver lining is that I could reach cones & collect seed without risking life & limb.

Itīs good to learn that Darragh didnītdo much harm in Your garden, Ashley! Obviously You are blessed with a garden large enough to house a metasequoia, nothing, I could dream of! At least, there is an Amana edulis slumbering potted in the green house. I wonder if it will deign to flower for me soon, too.

Symphoricarpos orbiculatus īFoliis Variegatisī is growing for more than 30 years in my garden, but never kept its leaves that long and set so many berries. I wonder if thatīs due to our mild temperatures till now and the excessive rainfall of 2023 and 2024?
