Wanted - UK - Dietes robinsoniana
« on: March 01, 2025, 08:12:20 PM »
Dietes seem uncommon in the UK - I have only ever seen iridoides, and less commonly, grandiflora at all regularly, with bicolor making an occasional appearance (and vegeta, which is invalid and can be either grandiflora or iridoides).
I have sown countless seeds over the years and the only ones that germinated were fresh from the split green capsules of my D. iridoides, which came up like cress.

Does anyone know of a source for D. robinsoniana, or would share a division if they have the species?

Robinsoniana is rather a large plant, but it does have scented flowers.

Incidentally, two new sub-species of bicolor and iridoides were described around 10 years ago - D. b. armeniaca is in cultivation, but I've not seen D. i. angolensis.
