Hi, today I just couldn't resist and treated myself to Iris reticulatus "Harmony" in this wonderful blue. I found them in two different garden centers from different manufacturers (but both in the Netherlands). On the left, bought at regular price, on the right with the reduced items (= withered crocus and nivalis) .... although not withered, but in bud - they were probably confused with crocus :-)
Well, since it was a simple peat culture substrate and I didn't want them to starve, I planted them in a bowl in more nutritious soil (I just had raised bed soil on hand). Inside at night, outside during the day in the expectation that the bees will do the work for me :-) My plan: When I get seeds in the fall, I will sow them in certain places on my "hill". I will also take the plants out of their pots in the fall and plant them out. Can anyone give me recommendations for locations? I have calcareous gravel as the soil here. (Peonies love it :-) What do you think about it?
greetings
Bernd
