Aster Alpinus
« on: July 25, 2008, 05:38:13 PM »
Hello everyone, my Aster Alpinus is being swamped after a wonderful display this Spring.  Can someone tell me if it is okay to lift and split as per normal Asters?  If so, what time of year should I do this?  Thanks

Giles

1. AGS Encyclopaedia: 'Propagation by seed or division in March'
2. Readers Digest Encyclopaedia of Garden Plants and Flowers: 'Divide and replant the roots during suitable weather between October and March, preferably in March'

Looks like March is a safe bet.
