Hi
I have just upgraded to windows 7  I never knew that windows 7 no longer comes with a email client for sending and receiving emails
You have to pay them an additional £160 for the software for sending and receiving emails what a rip off, it should be on each box in big bold print that you have to pay out for this
Can anyone please advice me of another email client that I can use or am I better just paying my money to micro soft

Here's the shopping list:

Myself, I've been using Pegasus since 1996. These days I run it under Linux using the Wine interface; it doesn't run perfectly, but adequately.

One thing to look out for: whatever program you select, verify that it can import your old folders, address books and such (if, that is, you want to).

Angie, don't know what you were using before. Did you have to do a clean install to put W7 on your machine. If not, your old client should be hiding in there somewhere.

I wonder if the lack of, I presume, Outlook Express is a result of the EU anti competitive rulings or, as you say, just a money making scheme. I'm assuming that for £160 you get  home office and not just Outlook....or am I being naive?

Martin you are right, £160 is for office 2007 which includes there email client. If you just buy there email client its approx £116 ( this makes word excel powerpoint etc less than £50 ) I found all my old messages and settings and managed to import them Thanks  for your help.

Thanks Roger for that link.

Don't ever download anything that pops up on the screen no matter who recommends it, Microsoft updates and antiVirus updates will download automatically.
If you have good antivirus along with the Microsoft security you don't need anything else. Set your antivirus to run a check daily and you should have no problems. Most of those that advertise to clean up registry etc are scams.

I'm just considering migrating to W7.  Has anyone any experiences, good or bad, to share about it?  I'm still on XP at the moment, never trusted Vista....

Don't move yet, wait until all the bugs have been fixed. Better still wait until you need a new computer, then it will be already installed and you should not have any problems. Upgrades can cause problems.

My instinct tells me to wait a while.  I think I will.  I don't really need a new computer and I'm nervous about migrating really.  But is anyone using W7 yet?
