Gerry,

From your previous postings I'm thinking that the idiot tag definitely does NOT apply.  Besides which, putting yourself down takes all the fun away from everyone else who wants to.  ;D (Yes, this is a joke.... just in case anyone reading this thinks I am being nasty!  :o)
Cheers.

OK Paul, I withdraw the remark. I would hate to deprive anyone of their fun, particularly in these unfunny times.

And now I'm worried I have offended you.  I think I should try to keep my humour (although some would perhaps question that description) to myself.  :-X ::)
Cheers.

Paul - you have not offended me at all. I repeat, not. I'm probably not phrasing very well - 22.34 & too much red wine together with the global financial crisis...... Am I going to be able to afford new bulbs next year?

Gerry,

The bulbs net year may depend on whether you're willing to sacrifice some of the red wine.  Priorities and all that!  ;D

Hmmmmm.... could I sacrifice my Coca Cola?   :o  That's a tough question.  :-\  One needs one's vices after all.... then again my bulb collecting addiction IS one of my vices. ;)
Cheers.

Thanks everyone for trying to help me. I still can't get Mark's idea to work for me. Perhaps I don't understand what you meant Mark by '......... and then open another page......', or maybe I'm just thick!

Paddy's idea worked perfectly for me, and David Pilling's tip made thing easier.

I share your views on Macs Gerry, my son bought one recently and certainly wouldn't go back to using Windows. That's the way I shall go when my present system bites the dust.

Mark's idea, is to have more than one web browser (usually Inernet Explorer) window (aka page) open at the same time - allowing you to look at the two pictures in the two windows, side by size.

There are various ways you can get two windows open at once - one way is to run your browser twice, from the start menu or by double clicking on its icon on the desktop. That approach means you have two copies of the browser running.

Another approach is to open more than one window using the same copy of the browser. To do that open a browser window and then use the File menu -> New Window (Control + N) to open the second window.

You will sometimes end up with more than one browser window open when you click on links on web pages - some open in a new window, some replace the page you clicked on. You can force a new window when you click on a link by holding down SHIFT at the same time as you click.

This is useful if you're going through the results from Google and don't want to keep having to click on the 'back' button.

Well, having solved my problem with David Pilling's help can I ask for more help pleas on a problem that has only come up after I played around with Window sizes in an attempt to solve the previous problem!!

I have the SRGC Web Site as an Icon on my desktop. Now, when I click it (my system is set for single rather than double click) and it opens it now opens as a small page rather than the full screen size that used to happen. To get it to full size I have to click the square at the side of the closing X. What do I need to do to get it back to normal please?

You could pull the page to the shape you want by hovering on the edge of the page until the double headed arrow shows and then holding the left button pull the page edge out

To set the default size for Internet Explorer Windows.

Open just one IE window, adjust it to the size you want, hold down control and whilst it is held, close the IE window.

Maggi, perhaps you should add 'Computer Guru' to David's profile?

David, it worked fine, thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for the tip, I've always wondered why some windows open smaller but never got round to finding a solution.
