It's time to get back to business, bad weather outside and load of ebooks, photos to sort, the evening is favourable for this activity.

Flora amenazada y protegida del Parque Natural del Alto Tajo

Alto Tajo is mid distance from Madrid and Saragosse, less than 2h driving is needed to enjoy an unspoiled environment home of Narcissus eugeniae just to name it. 40% of the region is composed of siliceous soils and the rest calcaorous ones, you can easily understand why more than 2500 species grow among these habitats.

Botanical excursions in Central and Western Sicily

A very interesting book if you're looking for botanical areas with a lot of informations about indicators of each habitat (as used in europe to qualify a flora zone).

Estudio del las orquídeas silvestres del sistema ibérico, 754p. A whole flora dedicated to the orchids of Spain.
No doubt the best book edited on the subject, with many infos about pollinating insects, maps, seeds structure, etc.

Yann, belated thanks for providing links to so many useful publications; it is very much appreciated. Thanks to you, I currently reviewing the Flora of Mongolia and wondering whether I should go there next year!
Yemen, what a country ... Haraz mountains, Socotra, Sana'a, Hadramaut, the empty quarter.... a country of stunning, mind altering beauty...and the friendliest of people.

Well if it gives some ideas for futur trips it's great. We now have such free documents available all around the world that exploring it has never been so easy.

Allez back on the roads! Turkey another hot spot for plants. Important Plant Areas in Turkey is a great book for those who want to prepare their road books. 122 areas are described in turkish but the maps, species list and photos give precious details for a successfull trip.

Autumn isn't far away, Greece is a great destination for bulbs.

Here's a new publication Plant Guide of the Chelmos-Vouraikos National Park: Endemic, Rare, and Threatened Species

Greek and english descriptions, areas where to find plants.

Yann,

Thank you, Yann, this is very interesting.  Most of my own bulb collection comes from South Africa, Australia, China, and the Americas [particularly North America, Chile, Peru, and Brazil]. I have very few bulbs from Europe, or Asia [except China].
I am intereased in exploring European and Asian bulbs that will work into my landscape well.
