Oh yes, sorry 'bout that one. Perhaps the security concerns should have been given greater weight and the tour cancelled.

I'll join Lesley in the happy about rain comments.... we had 72mm here last Friday/Saturday.  The 24 hours to 9am on Saturday was 63mm, the largest 24 hour event in the 2 1/2 years since my computer harddrive last died and I lost the records before that.  Has made virtually no difference to the dam levels for our water supply though.... the ground just drank it up as it was good slow rain the whole time.  Nice to actually see water seeping out of the ground in places at the moment around the city, something it has been a very long time since we've seen.  Here's hoping that the bit of rain they're forecasting tomorrow does actually eventuate, as it would be great followup.
Cheers.

Min winter temp -8 or -9°C. Max summer temp 40°C. Thankfully, maybe once or twice a year only.

last Thursday I ordered by post three American hollies, Ilex verticillata from Junkers nursery in Somerset and this morning they arrived. They specialise in trees and shrubs.

Beautiful plants wonderfully packed and excellent service. An example to others in these days of continuous complaints about service.

Now all I need do is grow them and get them covered in berries.

An excellent nursery, with excellent service, I deal with them all a lot.

You have to go on a waiting list for some of them.

Well, I know, I was surprised too..... most of us are managing a roast chicken at this time of year........ ::)

Actually, we too have noticed a marked reduction in the spam mail meantime..... for the last ten days or so it has been much less.....overzealous filter still managing to scoop up some wanted mail, though, while letting the odd piece of spam through, but penny numbers as opposed to the usual amounts.

I've noticed a great reduction in the number of spams from pseudobanks.  Maybe they've gone under too?
