David many thanks for the kind words - I enjoyed talking to a large and enthusiastic group making the long trip worth while.

It was really nice to meet you face to face and not through a computer screen and as is the tradition when forumists get together a picture is below along with two of the old fossils I found.

Although there is controversy surrounding chained sled dogs meeting up with polar bears....these pictures by Norbert Rosing taken near Churchill, Manitoba (Hudson's Bay) certainly warm the heart.

Obviously the bear had a full belly at the time.

Kristl, those lovely shots of the bear and his new chum are some of the best I've ever seen on the whole Forum (that above excepted, of course ). The bear seems to be begging to have his tummy tickled.

Forgive me, Frazer, but this seems a little overzealous, even for a very keen gardener... what sort of trees are these cossetted specimens? ?
