Me too. Only problem from my point of view is that, because Ron's catalogues went out so early this year, I missed the chance to have some slips put in with them, telling his customers about my novel, The Snowdrop Garden, that's being published next February.

I should have contacted Ron sooner.    He was happy to do it but by the time I talked to him he'd already put all the catalogues into envelopes, so now I'll have to wait till next year. At least Joe's said I can do something at the gala in  February, so there's that.

Shame though. It's my first novel and it's all about snowdrop growing and the world of snowdrop collecting, so I'm sure at least a few of Ron's customers might have been interested. No real budget for advertising the novel, so this kind of word of mouth stuff and flier in catalogues stuff is my best way to get the word out about it. I need to plan things better. Always too busy writing though.

is it to late to order a catalogue now?

Not too late. Ron still has plenty of catalogues to send out to people who apply for them. You'll need to send a stamped addressed A5 size envelope to:

Hi Rob

it is indeed early arriving this year.  The 2007 catalogue arrived with me 03/01/2007.  The 2008 catalogue arrived with me on 28/12/2007.  And now the 2009 catalogue has arrived over a month earlier on 21/11/2008.

There are some lovely snowdrops listed in it - but alas I must resist buying any this year     - A shame as there are 4 I would love to own.  C'est la vie.

Highly recomended by me too.  Last year when they didn't have a flowering sized bulb they sent me three bulbs instead 

They do sell out of some varieties quite early (and the paper catalogue has been out for months).

Rob,

Colin Mason (Fieldgate Snowdrops) sells these varieties and he may well have them available at the Gala in February. He certainly had them for sale at this year's Gala and were also on his summer listing for 2009.

i just got a reply from coling, but dissapointingly he dosent do mail order

id be happy to by small non flowering sized bulbs of these too as well, even tiny recentley chipped (at least one cycle in soil though)

Rob - I think that David was probably telling you about Colin Mason now so that you could pre-order your snowdrops and collect them from Colin at the Galanthus Gala in February.

You may want to send Coin Mason a letter requesting to be added to his preliminary listing for next year's list. I know that we haven't had this season yet but you have to be on the ball if you want to stand a chance of picking up some of the 'specials'. I sent Colin a letter in March and received the list in June this year.

Chris was correct in his assumption that I was suggesting that you try and secure bulbs for collection at the Gala in February. Unfortunately for you Colin doesn't do mail order and so either you can pick up from him directly or at the Gala.
