Bulb Log CD

Good Morning Maggi
I have tried without success to email you re the above but it keeps being returned. Is your email as shown with your profile still OK?
Back to the main subject ..The BD's dedication over the years to the Bulb Log is an oustanding achievment, would that others would follow his lead in disseminating advice so freely, from other Societies, I hasten to add.
I noticed in one of the BL's mention of a CD covering "The Early Years", is one still available?
Regards
Alan Whybrow

Hello, Alan, not sure why your email is bouncing. All my email forum notifications come via that address and they're alll getting here! Yes, there was a CD, of the first couple of years of the log as I recall. I'll ask the BD what the status is now. I'll get back to you on this... might be a while, tasks piling up here at the moment that I really must attend to urgently!
Cheers,
M

I do think that the "early years" CD is a wery good idea! I would be happy to pay for receiving one. Or put the bulb logs on a webserver where we could download them and burn our own CD.
Cheers

There was a CD of the first couple of years. I believe Ian intends speaking nicely to Fred Admin to see if an update version might be arranged! Hope Fred Admin isn't reading this or it will be a surprise!

Hi Maggi
I am having a problem with the Bulb Log photos. They now appear too wide on my screen, only one & a half at a time so to speak. This is a fairly recent problem, since March 2006, & have put up with it 'til now.
Is it something I've done, how can I alter it or is this something for Fred Admin to reply to.
Thanks
Alan

Hi, Alan, I'm not sure what could be causing this problem. Ian tries hard to
get the photos to fit our screen without scrolling, it is only a 15inch one.
This week's log has got one photo that causes a half inch of scroll on our
screen but since it was only one, he let it go through. But that you should
be having this trouble for months is very odd. I'll ask Ian and Fred and
we'll get back to you on, I hope, a solution.
Cheers,
Maggi

Alan, I am not sure why you are having this problem I restrict the images to 950 pixels wide which should fit all screens. One did sneak by me this week at 987 and needs a tiny tweek of the scroll bar, sorry.
I think it must be your settings.
Look under tools, browser options, appearance, and make sure that you have checked the box for - enable automatic image resizing.
Other than that it may be to do with your screen resolution.
Is any one else having this problem?

Ian
Thank you for your comments re photo sizing.
I 'm using Mozilla Firefox which, unfortunately, doesn't include automatic image resizing!
My screen resolution is normally 800x600, if I change it to 1024x760 the photos in Bulblog fit but I shall need stronger spectacles to see the items on the screen.
I shall just put up with it,
Many thanks again.

Hi Ian
Soryy to keep on about the Bulb Log Photo sizing but.. In Bulb Log 07 15/02/06
they fitted the screen perfectly.
Bulb Log 08 21/02/06 there was a 40mm side scroll.
Bulb Log 08 21/02/07 there is now a 90mm side scroll.
Regards

Alan,
I have checked and double checked and all but the last log where I posted one picture a fraction too wide all images fit within the screen.
The site is set up to be best viewed at 1024 x 760 and at that resolution you should not be having any problems.
No one else has reported having a problem so I suggest that on this occasion please do adjust your set.
