early winter snow in Aberdeen

We have had a fall of snow over the last couple of days which seems content to lie...... nothing tothe deep drifts of the stuff that I know many Forumists must contend with over the winter but quite unusual for so early in the season here in north-east Scotland. Elswhere in the forum I was asked to show some pix, so here we go...........


I think the last picture in this post looks like little snowball flowers on the ends of the rhodo stems!

Just got back from Newfoundland last night in time for a midnight nor'easter. A few shots from my doorstep... the forecasters predicted 30cm and they may have been right.  Maggi, your Scottish snow is much more artistic.

Actually, Brian, that daft little dog Lily doesn't seem to feel the cold when there is snow to play in..... she gallops around like a young thing, rolling and snow-ploughing with her nose......on her walks today several folks said how much the "youngster" was enjoying the snow..... Lily will be ten and the end of December!! No idea how she does it, but Ian and I are stocking up on her dog food and thinking to share it to see of that's the secret.....

And more snow at one time than we've ever had here I think.    There has been snow in the mountains the last 24 hours here as well, very late given summer officially starts in a weeks time.  An antarctic front dragged cold air up, but at least we're getting some rain out of it.  Hard to believe it was near 30'C the other day, and less than half of that yesterday. 

Great pics of the snow by the way, and also of Lily.  Our little Elf (see picture to the left) is 13 1/2 years old and still behaves like a pup.  We reckon she has caches of speed planted around the house and yard, because sometimes she disappears for a few minutes and then comes back running around like a mad thing.  Darn rude of her not to share is how we feel about it.
