RHS Yearbook
« on: November 28, 2008, 12:15:27 PM »
My 2008-2009 yearbook plopped through the letterbox this morning.  It has had it's first reading concentrating on references to snowdrops, the tulips and daffodils are looked at later ::)  Congratulations to Chris Sanham on a most interesting article on how he grows his National Collection, also Colin Mason and Angela Whinfield have wise words to share.  An informative read.  Now for the rest of it!

Brian - many thanks for your kind comments.

For those unfamiliar with the RHS Daffodils, Snowdrops & Tulips Yearbook copies can be obtained from

Mr J. Akers
Dept M
70 Wrenthorpe Lane
Wrenthorpe
WAKEFIELD
West Yorks
WF2 0PT
UK

Cost is £8.50, including postage & packing - cheques made payable to RHS Publications Ltd - this compares to the bookshop price of £11.95 (the sales flyer does not say if anything extra has to be added for overseas postage, but I know that approximately 25% of the print run is sent to overseas subscribers).

The 2008/9 edition of the Yearbook is slightly larger than usual at 137 pp (A5 size - approx 22 cm X 16 cm) and contains a wide range of articles, show reports, book reviews etc, well illustrated with high quality colour photo's.

Answering my own question. It is available online: http://shop.wisley.co.uk/product_info.php?product=ALPINES_AND_BULBS&dpi=9781902896939

This might be of use to other forum users living, like myself,  outside the UK.

Paddy - you are right that it can be ordered on line, but only at the full price of £11.95 plus postage & packing -which for Ireland is an extra £4.95, for Canada is an extra £7.50 and even for the UK is an extra £2.50, which is an awful lot more than the £8.50 including P&P if it is ordered from Jim Akers (as above).
