Who's asking you for showdrops Mark? Not me. Mind you, I have been known to buy snowdrops for other people on request, when they are not in a position to do so themselves.

No not you or anyone else on the forum. I get many emails from Europe especially Germany and Holland. If I think I can help I always forward requests. Those that ask for rarest of the rare I delete the email

I heard a whisper today the 'Flocon' will appear on one of the lists that will come out later this month. The price will be c£50 for a flowering bulb.

So it's all chinese whispers as far as I can see.... why not apply for all the snowie lists and see what's offered?

Yes apply to everyone. I'm sure mailing lists are big but a few extra shouldnt be a problem. Once you place an order the list should come every year.

Doesn't Joe's list get published around the end of January? I'm sure Joe is the most likely candidate but Mark mentioned by the end of the month. Apart from North Green, are there any other 'biggies' left who may have this for sale?

Yes I think it does David, so it's thinking caps back on   North Green normally comes out in January too I seem to remember (somebody will put me right I am sure).

I didn't send for North Green's list and think it is immoral the way he puts snowdrops up for blind auction. In a real auction the cost you pay would be next increment from the next highest bidder. I would be interested to see the prices actually paid for each of, say, five of one kind offered this way. Can't imagine he'll have it on his normal list? As for Chinese whispers: they have to start somewhere.
