Anthony you really should venture south some year to see what is available at the Galanthus Gala. I just looked at airfares for Edinburgh to Stansted. It's £52 return but would have been under £40 a few weeks back.

I must say I found the Colesbourne list interesting and, though the Bulb Despot's cry of "I wouldn't buy a snowdrop" was ringing in my ears.... I may have requested a couple of snowies.... I only say may.... please note :-\... on the grounds I might incriminate myself. :-[ :-X    ( little fat ones, that's as much as I'm saying!!)

Brian,

Doesn't Joe's list get published around the end of January? I'm sure Joe is the most likely candidate but Mark mentioned by the end of the month. Apart from North Green, are there any other 'biggies' left who may have this for sale?

David

Monksilver catalogue arrival dates - 26 January 2007 - 25 January 2008

Northgreen catalogue arrival dates - 3 February 2007 - 28 December 2007

Don't forget Foxgrove!...

John  :)

Maggi, I like small, but feminine woman (one is much better for me, than all ) too. Thinking galanthophile it looks like the pic.

i have heard of north green snowdrops before, but i have no information on them
do they offer mail order?

rob

North Green do mail order only, no visitors. Address: North Green Snowdrops, North Green Only, Stoven, Beccles NR34 8DG. You need to send £2 for the catalogue (and £2 every year if you want a catalogue every year - there's a space for catalogue cost on their order form, so you pay for next year's catalogue with this year's order. I make no comment.)

Yes, 'Dickerchen' is a real beauty, Hagen. I admired it on your website too. Is it a pure nivalis form or a hybrid? And does it open its petals up higher than in your website picture, or do they always stay hanging down slightly?

Me neither Martin. Needless to say I didn't send for a catalogue. I'm beginning to tire of receiving bulbs which are over and may or may not flower in a year's time. There'll be a good choice at the Bulb Display and who knows, there may even be a few that tempt me? Tonight I went to a talk by David Millward on bulbs. Fantastic. I must get Lilium regale. Perhaps John Amand will have it? Oh, and I like Dickerchen for its fuller figure.

I keep saying that too. I used to grow a lot of Lilium regale, and other trumpet lilies. The scent of regale is superb.
