Early Bulb Day in Dunblane 2009
« on: December 04, 2008, 05:30:20 PM »
A VERY important date for your diary: SATURDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2009

This is the date of the  Scottish Rock Garden Club “Early  Bulb Day” to be held in the Victoria Hall, Dunblane. There will be  a colourful display of  spring flowers, lots of plants for sale and super talks to entertain throughout the day. As well as stalls from various specialist bulb and alpine nurseries, there is the temptation of the Club’s own plant stall.  Everyone is welcome to bring along any early flowering bulb or alpine plant to enhance the non-competitive display.

For 2009, there will be four short talks: Rod Leeds ( grower, author and member of the AGS Team which won Gold and Best in Show at Chelsea 2008) will give two talks and Julia Corden (Manager of The Explorers’ Garden, Pitlochry) and Susan Band ( of Pitcairnalpines.co.uk and, of course, an SRGC Forumist) will be the other speakers.

Well, thank goodness, The Wyllie Wifie, Jean, has just telephoned to put me out of my miserable confusion..... it seems that the fourth speaker at Dunblane is to be Michael Almond of Errol.

Many of you will have read Michael's articles in The Rock Garden ....a popular speaker, he travels extensively and takes great photographs ....what more could we ask?

A pity not to see your garden, you should have a few things flowering by that time. We are staying with a good friend of yours(and mine ).
