Hepatica seeds
« on: December 12, 2008, 08:39:06 PM »
Hello, am a newbie to the forum, am an Australian now living in Atlantic Canada, Zone 4b.
Am wondering if someone has pics of hepatica seeds.
I've never grown them but received some seed in July. I've had them in the fridge in damp vermiculite since then and am thinking the seeds look like hellbore seeds.
They are black and same shape as hellebore seeds.

Hello, Helen! Good to "see" you!
i think of hepatica seeds as being pale green when they're very fresh andthen going brown. Sometime more long and pointy than rounded.... not what I think of as hellebore seed shaped.... (they're chubby and kind of kidney shaped, aren't they? )

This website is good for some "seedy" questions : http://www.theseedsite.co.uk/.... not sure what they have in this case..... ???
