I wonder how the prices will be this year with the economic downturn?.....

Grumpy

What was the record ebay price last year?  I am sure it was more than £100 for a single Galanthus bulb - Brian, do you remember?

So, it's started... already??!!  In spite of myself, that 'Grumpy' is cute  :-\
I think for most of us, though, the choice between flowers and food and shelter is not such a very tough choice.... after all, if WE'RE homeless, what would happen to the plants?  I imagine most will be sticking with the mortgage payments  :-X

What was the record ebay price last year?

Was it £274 for Ecusson D'or?

Ecusson D'Or was £131.98 whilst Floccon de Niege (now where have I heard that name before?) was £266.

Top price for Grumpy was £30.89 !!!

Sometimes when I stay on a petrol station I debate with myself, whereof I have more fun, full tank or a fine galanthus. Now I often go by bicycle.

Mark, I can tell the story also with other words.
If you pay 20€ for a drop, then you are crazy.
But if you pay 80€ for a full tank, because you car is so big, that is normal.
You can see, I mean only cental europeans! ;D

Well, I'm no expert, but 'Grumpy' does look like a snowdrop  rather than a painting by Titian. I'm obviously  growing the wrong plants - those E-Bay prices would pay my gas bills for the next quarter (if I economise). Is there a teeny-weeny bit of one-upmanship going on here?
