Help on Identification
« on: January 27, 2009, 01:02:42 AM »
Can anybody offer a suggestion for this bulb.  Have had it 3 years and it has not flowered.

Leaves are quite distinct so I am hoping for an identification.

Thanks

I can't help Arthur but what beautiful foliage. I hope someone comes up with the answer. Silly to suggest an obscure Muscari I suppose?

Give us another clue Arthur!  What kind of bulb/corm/tuber/storage roots?  Vaguely suggestive of onion family or asphodels with leaves much broader at the base.  Nice leaves though.

Thanks everyone - let us hope it flowers this year to confirm Ornithogalum, and then we can have fun trying to guess which one.  :)

I see you've passed the 1000 mark Arthur. Congratulations. Deserves a cake but I'm so busy at present, bottling apricots yesterday, sieving sand today. Maybe later in the day.
