Does anyone know the name of a Saxifrage I got many many years ago (sorry no photo). It is supposed to flower around Christmas time, pure white, the rosettes are quite large and spikey. I got it from Joe Eliiott, it was Sax Marie XXXXX I can't remember what XXXX was and I've never seen it mentioned since.
you know, isn't it just one of those things? I remembered! It's Marie Louise and interestingly it's not in the database though I found a reference online to an AGS bulletin which, with luck I have.
pictures from Alpinen - Beet and from Mini - Alpinum
Beautiful beds Wolfgang.A question.Do you shade in the summer or do you water a lot? I asume Sachsen can be quite hot in July/AugustGöte
The "Marie Louise" mystery deepens. I found it in the AGS bulletin but with no ifo other than it is white and flowers at Christmas. I thought the description of "Maria Luisa" was it..but look at the picture on the Sax database I'm not sure. My plant has definate 1 inch stems (it's outside and I think it did in a pot too) plus it has often two flowers on a stem. The stems are greenish yellow I think. In the meantime, I new one bought at the Sax open day "Paul Gaugin" and one from a few years back "Allendale Bounty"
