Last snowdrops of the season?

On the edge of the snowdropseason i found these nivalis in full flow today, any idea what they might be?

G. nivalis I would say.

There are still snowdrops to flower. 'Danube Star' is still in tight bud and vaious plicatus are only just up last week

Yes i know they are nivalis, but wich kind of nivalis do they look like Mark? Especially the one with the tiny mark on the inner petal, and the one with the dark green mark also on the inner petal.

Yes they are in my garden now, but were not this morning Mark. Don't get me wrong they do come from a forrest were a various kind of nivalis is living.

Gerard they can look like another named nivalis but they cant be that one. The middle and last one look within the range that I have seen in gardens but the top one is the most interesting. It looks like Sally Wikenden but isnt fat enough

Mark what do you think of the last picture, you might not have noticed that the outer petals are going upwards when they get into fullflow.

yes I noticed. Quite a few snowdrops raise they outers above the horizontal such as 'Mandarin' and 'Pagoda'.

Do you have pictuers of them? Youre alway's so good with picture's of almost every variety, how many pictures of different snowdrop's does youre database contain?

When snowies raise their outers above the horizontal, do they not usually do so right from the ovary? I discern a small difference in Gerard's since there is a dip then a bend to the raise. Perhaps this is Gerard's point?
