Visiting UK in April

Chloe, I've checked and Blackthorn Nursery isn't open in April. Only Jan-Feb-March, and then Sept. For just a few days.

After a frantically busy week or so, I'm about to set off on a short holiday based around the plant fair in Spain. I'll look forward to catching up on more wonderful photographs when I get back!

There's Tilebarn nursery in Kent (for cyclamen), Hythe Alpines in Thetford in Norfolk and Foxgrove Plants in Newbury, Berkshire. I've not been to any of these so cannot really say what they are like.

Hello Casalima, just logged on to srgc after a long absence - if you are driving from Plymough to London you should definitely visit Hill House Nurseries in Devon they have an enormous number  of very good plants - not all hardy - some are alpine-y many are not but it is a great nursery - Mathew and Ray his father are a delight and there is a very good tea room too.   Hythe alpines in Norfolk is a must, extremely good.   Best wishes for your stay.

Back home with a few plants No pure alpines as there were'nt many "small" things on sale at the plant fair, apart from some rather expensive Sempervivum and co. I seem to have acquired quite a few flowering trees and shrubs, without quite intending to! A wonderful time was had by all, despite the drizzle and the mud, and I only wish that I had taken a picture of the cider restaurant (sidreria) where we had supper on Saturday night - there must of been 80/90 people in our group (my Spanish plant forum + nursery folks) and we were only on two tables at one end of the restaurant!

Back to the original topic, if I go to the Solihull show on 21st April, is there any nursery/garden of interest in that area that I could visit in the before/after the show?

Last year Peilton Garden, Moniave was open for the Scottish Garden Scheme, it doesn't appear on their site this year so I was wondering if some kind person has a copy of last years schedule and could provide me with a post code for them please.  TIA Brian
