Gerd,

You just had to put that in there didn't you, knowing that we of enquiring mind would then just HAVE to go and look up Korsakoff's Syndrome to find out what it was.  ::)  Can't find any reference to Hiccups though in the wikipedia entry at least (OK, I'm not THAT dedicated and I didn't look any further than that). ;D

Sorry for the ' hiccup ' - maybe not translated in the sense as it is used in Germany.
People used to say ' hicks ' after drinking too much alcohol.
Being married with a nurse ' Korsakoff ' (or the warning to develope it) is well known for me. I didn't realise that it could be less known to others.
Making jokes in another language than the own one could be difficult.

I knew you were joking, but even then I just HAD to go and work out what you were talking about.  ;D  I thought the Hiccup was related to the disease, not that you were drinking (Yes, we use the "hick"after drinking too much alcohol too).

I can only imagine how much worse MY jokes would be if I had to put them in another language!  :o

Thank you for the information.  It looks like a very nice plant.  I had wondered about the resemblance to the Eucharis and Calostemma (to a certain degree), so it is interesting to see the comparisons to Eucharis made in that link.  One to look out for I think, although I doubt it would be in Australia.  So nice to see something new and interesting.  Thanks.

I can say that if interests to you it finds also in Australia, I cannot guarantee that or the same plant, but is found

Hi all in this thread,

I can promise you all that this species of Caliphruria korsakoffi is a real lovely plant, not so big, easy to grow and I have two mature plants of them and both have been in bloom for me this year!
And for me is this one of the most "longflowering species of all" both my korsakoffis had flowers for more than a month.

And this species is not expensive to buy in USA it cost approx. 15 USD + shipping and in Europe you can obtain this species for approx. 4 Euro + shipping

And what I know does this species belong to Urceolina/Eucharis genus?
