It was great to meet David at Pershore - I would have missed him though if Martin had not done the honours. Recognising anyone from the thumbnail on the forum is quite a challenge.
Perhaps we should all have badges of our avatar with a SRGCF logo to be worn at AGS shows.
Now there's a frightening thought!
I can also confirm MR is in serious practice for the 2010 Pudsey Pig Comp. - mind you the nosh at Dianes would tempt anybody.

Might be a fun idea.... a special Forumists' badge so we can find eachother....at all the shows and on distant mountain tops,  or in patisseries, for instance........

Trouble with badges, though,  is, unless they are pretty big, most of us still couldn't make them out.... and peering at folks' chests can be misconstrued.     ..... what about t-shirts with nice big writing....... "I'm an SRGC forumist...what's your problem ?"

gladly, Luc, but I favour better names for the sizes ..... for instance, S = petit(e)   M = everyday
L=  robust,   XL= in training   XXL = post graduate   XXXL = superb(e)   .... and so on!

How an SRGC cap?  For all weathers - I could see those sporty types watching cricket who could shout out 'Howzat' in a SRGC cap whilst shading the sun from their eyes or 'in, out...in, out .....and shake it all' about whilst watching tennis in a SRGC cap and flapping it to keep cool or .....I'll leave the Rugby and Football fans to add their ideas....as a perfect receptacle for catching tiddlywinks when you're on an outing with kids or......  ...or for keeping off the rain drips when looking at flowers in the open rock garden and collecting donations for a good cause

Thank you Martin and Maggi  for your comments re. the Rhodohypoxis seedling at Pershore. It certainly caused a stir and even had to be taken outside by the judges to see if the intense colour was caused by the strange lighting! Fortunately it looked just as good outside! It seems to be a strong grower and should multiply well.

The next AGS show will be the AUTUMN SOUTH SHOW, which will take place on SATURDAY 26th September 2009 at THE RAINHAM SCHOOL for GIRLS;

DERWENT WAY, RAINHAM, KENT.ME8 0BX

Plant sales from 10am Show will open at 12noon to 4pm, Refreshments throughout the day.

 A wide range of  Nurseries will be attending,  selling a wide range of hardy plants and bulbs.

 THERE WILL BE AGS PLANT STALL & AGS BOOK STALL

Show Secretary is the redoubtable David Hoare..... how does that man fit in all his activities.... he's one of the AGS powerhouses!

Hi Maggi. Thank you for posting details of the forthcoming AGS Autumn South Show, you just beat me to it. Lets hope it is well supported by exhibitores, members, channel hoppers and the public.
Like all Show Secretaries you can only put on the shows with the help of many hard working people who are willing to give there time
on show days. I'm very lucky to have a wonderfull team who are willing to put on two shows a year.
Still very dry here in S.E.Kent, my arms are down to my ankles, to many watering cans and buckets.

Hard to believe that there are some areas of the country still too dry.....in spite of  some lovely weather we are getting quite a bit of rain ( getting some right this minute, as it happens!) so need to water has been minimised.... my sympathy to your elongating arms!
