Lesley,

So glad your stay in hospital was a short one and hopefully you are well on the way to a full recovery.

If it had to happen any time, you chose the time of least garden/growing activity  ;) :) or frustration would have been added to your woes.

My absence from the Forum has just been down to quantity of work decorating my bungalow from top to bottom.  Nearly finished and will then post again.

Again, many thanks for good wishes. You know me Paddy, I have to be in the thick of things. ;D

One VERY good result of my time in purdah was that I have lost 8 kgs while in hospital and a further 2, all without trying, since I arrived home. I simply couldn't eat to start with - most unlike me - and since, I can't put it down to Roger's cooking because he is a very good cook and because I've been doing it myself anyway, one of the things I can do with no problem (don't like sneezing much!). I'll soon have to buy a lot of new clothes. Oh, what a terrible outcome. :D

Cliff, even on my deathbed, I'll always try to look after R. semiverticillatus. In the meantime, I think your flu may be even unhappier than my lot. Do take care of yourself.

Lesley,

Our two health systems have the ability to 'aid' weightloss in common. My recent trip ended up leaving me several kilo's lighter. Glad you're happy about it.

Crikey, have you been poorly, too, Rob? Hope you are feeling much better....or at least on the way to mending.

Sometimes I do think that this club ought to be the SWGC, but I suppose a little licence is permissable so we can be the Scottish (W)Recked Gardeners' Club    :-X :'(...... mind you, we all seem to keep cheerful enough, and that's the main thing.... hard to be too depressed when there are the wee plants to care for!

Hi Lesley, so good to hear you are managing to do things in spite of your op and that all your seedlings and plants are in peak form to welcome you home  :)

You Rob, most likely didn't need the weight loss that I did and still do. I can't really explain it as I'm eating 3 reasonably square meals each day and am still losing weight at about a lb per day. Mind you, not a square of chocolate has passed my lips for 2 full weeks, nor anything sweet or cakey. I am finding a use for my previously bottled apricots, peaches and plums though.
