Maggi,
The ubiquitous Habranthus tubispathus, that comes as assorted things in seed exchanges. Pretty, but very prolific.

Cheers.

it came as a Sternbergia
Yes 'Sternbergia' turned out to be the same here
because I failed to spot how 'wrong' the seed looked.

Anyone want seeds from my H. tubispathus? Counting my seeds before they hatch - the pods are green

It may be ubiquitous, but it is still very pretty (...and boy, does it seed around!).
I recently purchased a packet of
Narcissus bulbocodium graellsii
from a very reputable nursery in the UK (so I don't doubt the authenticity - much), but on sowing I thought the seed did not resemble the idea I had in my mind of a Narcissus very much - sort fo softish, black and angular. Anyway, after many months a few have germinated - bright green and hair-like, so it's very difficult to tell what they are at this stage - time will have to tell! Now it's time to plant some zinnias and petunias for quick flowers - it can be very wearisome waiting years and years for certain things to flower, can't it?
