New garden - new plants wanted

Thanks Anthony, for the ID.
I think the one behind it is an Osomanthus of some kind.
It was covered in small white flowers and had a beautiful (almost overpowering) scent.
The flowers didn't last for long though.

I love gardening but i dont know all the latin names for things but it seems i should be forced to by my growing love for gardening, now i no longer stay in a Tennement with someone posessed with HACKING everything down to stumps including a fantastic Apple tree and burning well established old fenrns etc, etc it was beyond reason!
I am learning!
I assumed one of the plants you mentioned was the latin name for a cordyline! sorry I did think you were brave growing them up there as i know im lucky to be able to grow them here as i protect them with a special fleece bag in winter, and my 8ft tree fern and other smaller non hardy plants and it works a treat.
Anything i have to offer i will find out the proper name or ask my mum she is a Latin Expert.(she should have forseen my interest in  gardening and taught me from a young age! ha ha)

I just spotted the geenfly on the stem of the pink candelabra primula, on my last post. I'll have to go out and squash them before I go to bed.

Nothing like a digital photo to show up the beasties!  I'm a bit worried that some of your dactylorhiza plants are looking a bit blotchy in the leaves... keep an eye on them, it may be this fungal disease... see "The Rock Garden" journal of a wee while back to see the Wilson's article on that. I'll check which volume tomorrow, if you can't find it.

It's in Journal number 107, June 2001. The fungus is cladosporium orchidis. The article by Brian and Maureen Wilson is on pages 168-170.

And a few more, the strange looking pink one is a dwarf Japanese chrysanthemum - the flowers are very large, I can't make my mind up if I like it or not.
I'm glad that I was home in time for the meconopsis, although I've been hunting round all the local garden centres for mec. nepaulensis as I really like it and it used to be readily available quite cheaply, but I haven't seen it anywhere this year.
The first anemones are trullifolia and the last ones are obtusiloba I think.

Here, some more pics.
The first is a bulb that I picked up yesterday, could anyone help me out with a name.
Second and third are 2 views of the small bed, it is starting to get there.
A small rock rose.
A cape daisy.
Could someone help me out with the ID of this large shrub, in the second pic you can see the buds of the daisy like flowere, it is also evergreen. It is getting a bit too big and Irene wants to prune it back.
The next 2 are of an annual that Irene liked.

Hi, I think pic 106 may be a Philadelphus, I have one similar, but less pink than that, P. x lemoinei
