While we're on the subject of trees, driving through the mainstreet in Tauranga, I had to stop and take this picture.The first tree is our native Pohutukawa, (Metroisideros excelsa), probably the most spectacular and colourful crimson flowering native tree.The second is also a well-known and appreciated tree, the mauve Jacaranda tree, making another colourful display.
Here's something new (for me...) flowering in my collection - Griffinia espiritensis - smashing colour!
