Has Ian Butterfield still got no email address?  Paul Phillips mentioned his name to me.

Thanks Luc.  Would you know whether he would export to us?

Hi Faan

I doubt Ian is Cites registered and therefore will not export outside the EU. To be honest it's too much hassle. In his catalogue it only mentions UK and EU orders.

Sorry

I have read somewhere that Ian is very experienced at shpping internationally and ensuring the paperwork is appropriate.

Having said that for me no email=no order or no response to email=no order

Hi Faan, I asked him and confirmed that he doesn't ship to countries outside the EU.

Faan, I must agree with David and Maren, Ian doesn't send plants outside EU.
You can try any New Zealand or Australian contacts - You'll find them on Paul's websites www.pleione.info.
Or somebody here has a contact to Chen Yi from China - but I'm not pretty sure if it is 100% legall.

Chen Yi is 100% illegal as far as Orchids go. No Cites and false Phyto certificates listing plants as something else other than orchids.

Your choice.

Not a choice as far as I and the SRGC are concerned! Illegal is illegal.... end of story!

Maggi, I agree - it isn't a choice of mine, I've only found this name on 2006 SRGC forum.

Hi,
Ian's new catalogue (2010 - 2011) is out. Here is a brief synopsis of the latest additions:

Species:
Pln scopulorum

Hybrids

Pln Lascar 'Dipper' (Fuego x limprichtii) Reddish pink flowers with brown and yellow spots on lips.
Pln Lhasa 'Blushes' (Britannia x Eiger) Large very pale pink flowers. Inside the lip is yellowish with strong red spots.
Pln Lyn Butterfield (Adams x Katmai) Mostly dark mauve pink flowers, lips are yellowish and heavily spotted with red.
Pln Novarupta 'Goshawk' (Versailles x Soufriere) Sepals and petals dark mauve pink,Lip is creamy yellow wit red spots.
Pln St Helens (Keith Rattray x Kenya) Dark flowers in shades of cyclamen purple. Most have dark red on lips.

I had a basket full of Lhasa 'Blushes' on my display at the RHS London Orchid Show last weekend (for which I won a Silver Medal), and they looked stunning. Haven't seen the others yet, probably flower later. I will take piccies when they're in flower - as one or two are likely to end up in my collection.

I don't know, Mark. I don't work for Ian, just happen to talk to him a lot as he lives in the next village and his place is on the way to my nursery. Temptations galore. But I do believe, that he sends catalogues to all his recent customers. Cheers.

Ian does send it out automatically if you've bought from him the previous season,  if you haven't you might have to ask for one.

I normally get Ian's catalogue in September for ordering before the end of the year...
