Galanthus peshmenii - own collected seed from cultivated plants supplied by Kurt Vickery as G. peshmenii Rix, which I assume is  the Kastellorizo form, Rix 4010?

Seed Identification : photos of named seed varieties.

This topic is exclusively for posting photographs of named, fully identified, seeds.
The object  is to work towards as full a listing of verified seeds as possible.
Please do not post comments or questions in this thread, or photos of seed of which you are unsure of the ID. Such matters may be posted here: http://www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=1010.0

The photos must conform to the usual Forum restrictions i.e. maximum 760  pixels  wide and must include something to indicate the size of the seed, preferably using a background of  1mm  graph paper or a metric ruler. The inclusion in the photo of the plant name is a distinct advantage.

Wherever possible, please include the plant name in the name of the photo file and always include the plant name in the text of the post…. otherwise it is impossible to search for the image.

A recent query  highlighted the lack of a photo of Calochortus seed . Here is one, lacking a scale but perhaps useful nonetheless Calochortus uniflorus seed and pod from a 2008 Bulb Log  from Ian Young  There is a magnified image of a seed, bottom right of the picture.

Calochortus uniflorus seeds
I am getting a very good crop of seeds on the Calochortus uniflorus that I showed some weeks back. This is especially rewarding in what is one of the worst years we have had for seeds on the bulbs in both the garden and under glass. It is interesting to note that they are not the flat lily like seed found on most of the Calochortus I have grown but are more like a small Erythronium seed to look at.

Worth remembering too, is that the Pacific Bulb Society pages often have seed photos included as this one which had pix from David Pilling of Calochortus  superbus
