Looking promising Michael - mine were also almost to the stage of opening some flowers but they were flattened by a sharp night frost this morning...  ;D so it will take some more time yet...  :-\

I really like that one Ian. It reminds me somewhat of our Teddy. Although he's largely a white dog, if he took the skinhead (skinbody) route, he'd look like a dalmation. Every part of his little body is covered with black spots. ;D

Really nice Hellebore, mine are just starting to open, cant wait.
Lesley my sisters dog is exactly the same when he gets a hair cut you see all his black blotches, its so funny.

Thank you glad you liked it. What doesn't come over in the photo is the rich underlay of creamy yellow.

 This pic sent by a French friend.... it is always one of the first to flower in her garden.....
Can anyone offer an ID for this hellebore ;I'm thinking simply a Helleborus hybridus......?
