Hyacinthella nervosa
« on: January 11, 2010, 04:44:02 PM »
This morning i went to the Jordan Valley area to take photos of the early bulbous plants in flower.
Hyacintella nervosa is a rare plant growing in a few sites in the Jordan Valley, Judea Desert, Jordan and all the way up north to Turkey.

Oron, I have just been looking at your photos of the Muscari inconstrictum as well......
http://www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2883.msg130191#msg130191.....
their habitat is not the most inviting looking place, is it? Seems to be a lot of space though. ;)

Maggi,

You are partly right...in summer it is hell but today was a beautiful, 23c sunny day, surrounded by lots of birds and flowers and a scilent that exists only there, you can hear a fly coming from a mile.... :)

Thank you very much for these pictures that show the wild habitat of these bulbs.
At last we have an idea of the growing conditions of some of the bulbs that we grow in the bulbhouse !

Oron,
it is always impressive for me to see flowers and life in this meager landscape.
Best wishes
