Here's what I have as Zephyranthes 'La Buffa Rosea'- we have, over the years discussed various alternative spellings. Alberto Costillo refers to it as a Cooperia which I think has been sunk into Zephyranthes.

Thanks Dave. It is nice, doesn't seem to have much of a pink tip to the petals this year though.

Well, the Zephyranthes, Cooperia, Habranthus clan are in a mess right now.  It seems some are not so closely related to others as once thought.  DNA is revealing some more rascals in the woodpile.  So there may well be three genera there, but each of the new ones will probably include various bits and pieces from all these three once someone gets them all sorted out.  Alan Meerow worked on this group some years ago, but I've not been following recent developments.

So the upshot is, don't take the old assignments to Zephyranthes, Cooperia, or Habranthus all too seriously until the molecular guys finish sorting out who is sister to whom.  We should all write our pot labels in pencil.  And then there are Sprekelia and Rhodophiala!

But, I do not remember myself referring it to Cooperia!

La bufa rosa: bufa is a Basque word for a pig bladder. Bufa is the name given to peculiar round semispherical hills in Mexico. La bufa rosa means "pink roundish hill" or low mound. Therefore the right spelling is 'Labufarosae'. Supposed to be a natural hybrid with many variants in the population. Such variants have been given names and are different enough to merit them. Very easy to tell apart from the foliage itself: very broad and a deep green.

More important to me: lots of those variants in the trade I have seen are notoriously virused with all the mosaic and longitudinal stripes and ridges.
