Habranthus tubispathus the first to come into flower from a batch of seed sent to me by Paul Tyreman and sown in May 2008. It hasn't had enough sun to open properly but I'm proud of it just the same and I hope for a nice pot full next year.

A success there, David  8)  It's always so satisfying to flower something from seed but somehow, when the seed has come from a chum on the other side of the world, it is just SO MUCH better!  8) ;D ;D

For the past two years I've had flowers on Habranthus martinezii but not a single one this year although the leaves look healthy enough. The only thing I've done differently is to re-pot it whilst it was dormant. Is this a clue?

That's a good question, David.... you could phone  0500 929500 tomorrow between 12 noon and 13.00 to ask the "experts" on the Beechgrove Potting Shed.... see how far it gets you!  ;)

These things are best repotted in the colder months in the UK,  aren't they?  :-\

Re-potted in late February, watering started August and last year it was in flower last week in August.
