Muscari sp
« on: February 11, 2010, 10:20:06 PM »
Hi,
This Muscari sp. is from Konya/ Middle Anatolia / TURKEY.
It seems Muscari anatolica. But the young flower (on the top) are really white. Old ones are black. As seen from photos.
It grows on the soils which has much groundwater.
What do you think.

It does look as M. anatolicum, from the traces of the prominent white teeth [in the lower photo] and the pinkish stem [some times flowers pinkish too] with white sterile flowers is often seen in this species.
Tivon, in the lower Galilee, north Israel.
200m.

Wow, what an excellent colour combination.  The black and white are striking, and unlike the contrast in any other Muscari I have seen.  Beautiful!
Cheers.
